Born in Birmingham in the United Kingdom, I have been in education for over 30 years and been a Headteacher or Principal since 2006. With a background in Physical Education, I studied at universities in Leeds and Birmingham and have held the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) since 2003. I have taught in schools across the West Midlands region of the UK and also been a Head of School in Qatar before coming to join BISB. Throughout my time as a Headteacher and senior leader, I have led on school transformation and restructuring as well as the opening of a new school and developing teacher training provision. As someone who came from a comprehensive school background, I am passionate about making sure that all our students are able to enjoy and achieve and it is my aim to see BISBH continue to improve in the years ahead to become one the top performing schools in Bahrain.

I am honored to introduce myself as Vice Principal at Britus International School Bahrain. As an educator for more than 10 years, I personally believe in life-long learning and that instilling this value starts from a young age. I look forward to watching our young Britus students learn, grow, imagine, and develop both in and outside of the classroom. In addition, I am excited to become a part of each student’s educational journey with the help and support of my colleagues and team in Britus International School, Bahrain. I hold a B.A degree in Irish and Geography from the National University of Ireland, Galway. I started my educational career as an Irish teacher in Holy Family Community School Rathcoole, Co. Dublin. During that time, I completed a Masters in Educational Management and Leadership from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. Prior to joining Britus International School – Bahrain, I held many leadership positions more recently in Educational Reform within the Ministry of Education of the United Arab Emirates. Under my leadership, I intend to be a positive and encouraging role model to my students and staff alike. I will strive to ensure that both students and teachers reach their full potential in every aspect of school life. My goal is to continue to build on the Britus ethos and I look forward to meeting and collaborating with all the stakeholders in our wider community.

As an experienced Headteacher and senior leader who has worked in the UK and in the GCC, I firmly believe, that as educationalists, children should be at the centre of everything that we do. It has always been my belief that schools are about providing children with every opportunity to succeed. It is our jobs, as teachers and leaders, to ensure that they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to achieve their ambitions and succeed in our new technological age. My career, with twelve years of Senior Leadership experience, has been about school improvement for precisely this reason. To provide opportunities for children to flourish and succeed. I have a strong sense of professionalism and vision to ensure all children are provided with every opportunity to celebrate personal achievement and success.

Vice Principal

Throughout my time in the UK and in Dubai, I have developed a strong passion for teaching and believe that no student should be left behind, and that every student can be challenged and supported to succeed. I have been instrumental in identifying improvement areas while working with students, parents, and fellow teachers and have effectively coached them all to improve performance consistently. I maintain a great rapport with my students and parents and provide feedback on student performance and at-home support, always highlighting areas for improvement to reach the next level.
