We have a library – one in the boys’ section and another in the girls’ – with a large collection of books that foster a love of literature. Students visit the library with their English or French teacher and enjoy targeted reading and listening activities. We have fiction books (including mystery, science fiction & fantasy, sports fiction, supernatural, classics collections), nonfiction books and biographies. The library offers a relaxed atmosphere; it has a smart board and reference books and equipment that supports teachers and students whenever needed. The space is also used for exhibitions of students’ work or curriculum-linked displays, debates, presentations, and even competitions.

At EGISR, we believe that hands-on investigation through laboratory experimentation is the best way to introduce students to scientific inquiry, the process of asking questions and conducting experiments as a way to understand the natural world, which is the foundation of science education. Our science lab provides students with the opportunity to interact directly with natural phenomena or with raw data – there are two science labs in the girls’ building and one in the boys’ building.

We offer state-of-the-art computer labs for our students to help them gain proficiency in current technology. Our 3 computer labs – one in the boys’ and two in the girls’ section – are equipped with Chromebooks and provide high-speed internet connectivity and optimized hardware and software. Students are taught under the supervision of a team of well-qualified ICT teachers to instruct students not just in basic computer skills such as using word processing and spreadsheet software but also in advanced digital skills that are needed for the 21st century such as image editing and using presentation software and general multimedia.

We place a huge emphasis on students’ health. Playing outside helps students let off steam and is a crucial part of childhood that helps children develop physical strength, eye-hand coordination, and balance. We have 3 playgrounds and qualified physical education teachers who instruct our students on aerobics, karate, and sports. We aim to help our students develop resiliency as they learn to cooperate, overcome challenges, and negotiate with others. Our playgrounds are used for physical education classes and for assembling in the mornings and after lunch break.

We offer a large play area for students in kindergarten; it contains recreational equipment such as a swing set, slide, jungle gym, chin-up bars, and playhouses – these help children develop physical coordination, strength, and flexibility, besides providing recreation and enjoyment.

The school has a doctor who is present on campus during school hours. All students are required to fill out a Medical Form at the start of the school year, and these records are maintained in our files.
The health and well-being of our students is a high priority. The school doctor conducts routine check-ups on KG students and caters to the medical needs of grade students whenever the need arises.

At EGISR, our students enjoy indoor aquatic activities during their physical education class. We have a certified instructor to make sure everyone using the pool remains healthy and safe. In addition to our regular swimming classes, we are working toward ensuring that students enjoy extracurricular activities such as competitive swimming and other water sports. Swimming is a life-long activity and provides an alternative to students who may be unable to fully participate in regular high-impact activities during their physical education class.
